Please, enlighten me

Don’t force it, you say,
Just let it come to you

You tell me you can’t do this
Tell me you won’t do this
Tears streaming down my face
You don’t feel them
You can’t see them.

You bring mystery to this moment,
to this twinkle of light.

We seek a higher ground
dream of a complete life
Please, take this dimness
from my mind.

We are hanging onto a future
Living in a present
that doesn’t exist

Nothing but the truth lives in this house
So go on and tell me you can’t do this
Tell me you won’t do this
Or stand beside me, walk with me
and live the life we will decide.
