A rock-star weekend

So, pretty standard weekend for me … (uh, not in the least).

I won’t go into all the details since I did so on Twitter in great detail as they were happening (sorry for anyone who did not want to know every second of my nephew’s birth) but my sister had her baby on Friday night and I got to be there and it was wonderful. When my niece Mia was born I was stuck at work, and when my niece Sadie was born I was in New York City, so I am so glad I didn’t miss this one!

I am in Greenville for the next two weeks getting to know Cai and helping Chuck and Jenny get settled in with him. I got to “babysit” for a little bit today after we got home from the hospital and the proud exhausted parents grabbed a quick nap and Chuck’s mom went to the store. Cai fell asleep in my arms and it was just perfect. I can’t wait to see what the next few weeks and years hold.

Also this weekend I got to watch my brother in the Assault on Cherokee Triathlon. His energy amazes me – 1300 m. swim, 27.5 mile bike ride, 10K run. And he was still smiling at the end of it all! Read about his race here.

And, thanks to Jeff’s good luck, Amy and Colleen and Candice and I ended up with box seat tickets to American Idol. What a fun time! Amy got us back stage passes too, but she wasn’t able to get enough for all 4 of us and I had to get up early to see Cai and Kevin, so I had to pass. You can read all about her recap here, and if you’re a die-hard fan, here.

And with that, I’ll say to be continued. I have a baby to play with …
