Disneyworld. Disneyworld. Disneyworld!

I’m going to DISNEYWORLD!

Ok, that in and of itself is not all that exciting; I’ve been to Disneyworld a million times.

So, let’s try again:

I’M TAKING MY NIECE TO DISNEYWORLD!

Mia is turning 5 in a couple of weeks, and I’ve always always wanted to take her and my other nieces and nephews. I had a very important consultation with an insider (my little sister in my sorority works for Disney) and she told me that 5 is a very good time, that she’ll be old enough to remember and old enough to ride some of the rides, etc. So we thought we’d offer to the parents a trip for each niece and nephew’s 5th birthday (that way, it’s only one kid at a time!)

I cannot wait for this bonding moment. I cannot WAIT.

She is so getting Minnie Mouse ears. And so am I.

Now, the big question is, what do I make her for her birthday that tells her we’re going? We’ll probably go in the fall/winter since the girl is starting Kindergarten soon (where does the time go??)

5 is the perfect age to begin the Disney adventures. Jess and I went a few times before we had Logan and we watched the kids that were there and the relative “enjoyment” factor by the look on their (and their parents) faces. 5 seemed to be the magic age. Parents of kids younger had the worn out, exasperated look on their face and the kids seemed to be having just as much fun (NOT!). We’ve taken Logan 4 times since he turned 5 and are now on a Disney break to focus on other vacations and let Disney become “new” again after so many routine trips.
You guys are going to have a blast. Go ahead when you book and make all your dining reservations and/or character meals now. If she wants a makeover in the Bippity Boppity Boutique you’ll definitely need to get that reservation made NOW. That place has a waiting list a mile long.

    Have an awesome time!

    Hey Chica
I think 5 is perfect for all adventures to begin in earnest. The other Scott in my life is 5 and he made his second trip to Disney this last year and had THE best time so I think you have hit on a perfect idea. I also just realized that we should get those two little ones together sometime.

Bippity Boppity Boutique is a MUST for any little girl, especially 5 year olds. She will talk about that for years to come, believe me, my daughter does. And just a little tip, we saved money by getting her dress before we left (on sale at the Disney store in Pineville), so you wont buy it at the Boutique, they tend to go way up on prices! Have fun, you are an awesome aunt!
