Most of the time when I tell people this they think it’s my imagination. But I swear it’s not. So I want to know if anyone else with tattoos has experienced this:
Sometimes when my feet get really cold my tattoo on my foot hurts. Not my whole foot, just the tattoo. The skin feels really tight and it almost feels like it’s throbbing a little, I think?
Occasionally after I got it touched up last summer, my turtle on my lower back would hurt the same way. It doesn’t seem to be doing that anymore, though.
None of my other tattoos do this, just my foot and used to be my lower back.
Am I nuts? Imagining it?

Sorry, I can’t explain it. Just here to say nope, it hasn’t happened to me. Weird thing about one of mine is that it had that “raised” feeling (like what happens the first few weeks), for a few years.
As with most asterixs, they often just jump out at you.
Your “footnote” should be no different. ๐

I’d have to see that tat on your lower back to be certain ;P
I have a tattoo that is still “raised” but never the throbbing feeling.
Don’t know that I can say mine ever has. But being on my lower back I keep it nice and covered up during all times except sunbathing. It’s rarely ever cold during sunbathing.
I’ll get back to you after I’ve had one that’s more exposed to the elements.
BTW – I figured out the perfect time to get my footnote tattoo. It will be in honor of either my acceptance into the Masters of Library Science program or upon completion of the program! ๐

Very nice. Thank you!!!
No, never have experienced any pain with my tat, hot or cold… nor the wife’s.
Weird.
Never had this experience with mine either, although it is on my arm, so it may be a different situation. Maybe if you drank your coffee warmer, it would help ๐
