In the “runners are crazy” category: Clothing-optional races

So I was doing an innocent online search yesterday for upcoming 5Ks and 10Ks (I promise, that’s what the search was for!) when I came across an entire clothing-optional race series. Really?

I was telling my friend Jessica about it and some one-liners came to mind, so of course I had to share.

I wonder if Body Glide is a sponsor?
Would be a good way to show off that new tattoo …
Where you put your race number?
What do you clip your iPod Shuffle to? Owwww.

I digress. And no, I won’t be running that one – even though one of them is in Chesnee, S.C.

Are running shoes considered clothing, because never mind the naughty bits getting exposed to the elements…running a 5K barefoot? Ouch.

Our friend Alan got drunk and walked home 5 miles from the bar barefoot one night. His feet were feelin it the next morning! He still doesn’t know where he left his shoes …

We have one here we cover every year for the paper with photos — it’s always fun to see how the photogs will take the photos so we can publish them. My favorite was an incredibly difficult shot where they had the finish line tape in the foreground, just in the right spot to cover the guy running toward it. 🙂 And it’s done by the Bar S Ranch. (Say it outloud in a thick accent.)

Doing it barefoot would hurt. What I don’t get is I can’t seem to find a good bra to use and the ones I have don’t work so great and running is annoying so running without one would just be kind of awful.
